The Dressing Room
Spacial Design
Towards Skylights
Description

The attic above the family room was an unfinished area on the second floor off the master bedroom.

It was the kind of space where you throw your luggage, with raw beams, no windows and limited headroom.

The husband wanted a dressing room for his wife rather than the small his and her walk-in closets that they each had. He was very happy keeping his existing space. By raising the ceiling from 6 feet to 10 feet and raising a dropped beam that you would hit your head on and by adding skylights, contemporary lighting and custom cabinetry, the space was transformed into an inviting new world which has definitely become their dressing room.
