The house next door was bought for the mother of one of my clients. It was a dream to have Mom live next door, seeing that she did not even live in the same state. The property was difficult and the house, a 1980’s nightmare. Poorly constructed and neglected, with a strange exterior and even stranger interior, the clients had still hoped to do a renovation but as they realized that absolutely nothing could be kept, a whole new house was built. To make matters more complicated, due to restrictions from the Conservation Department, the existing foot print had to remain. The new house is built exactly where the old house was, looks nothing like the original and Mom loves it.
